you want a cheap 300blk upper?? if you are worried about cost do not get a 300blk. ammo is not cheap. period.

even reloading components are expensive.

Man from what I read online the ammo isn't that bad. Here's one site I was looking at- http://300aacblackout.com

Sounds more ba than the 5.56, but I am new to the AR rifles and know next to nothing about them.

5.45x39mm is what i was reffering to... It is a AK74 rounds and is the cheapest ammo you can buy. It is the only one that hasnt been inflated to much just yet. You can still buy 1,080 of military surplus for around 200 bux.

That shit is 30 a box:roflmao: Over a dollar a round:spit: 5.45 ammo is less than 20 cents a round damn near. 223/556 ammo is up to a dollar a round right now as well. A case of pmc bronze 223 is selling right now on gunbroker for 850-900.00 and it is sold out nationwide.

I couldnt find it on that site but i googled it and everything i saw is expensive. If you want a 7.62 then just buy a AK47 it is the same round only difference i think is the 300 is just 4mm smaller. Ak is a 7.62x39 and that 300 is a 7.62x35. Or if you want a AR platform buy one with a 7.62x39mm upper reciever and then you can shoot cheap AK ammo out of it. I dont see this caliber cetching on too well because its too close to a AK round to make any difference IMO and wont be cost effective

The whole reason 300blk came to market for for suppressed sbr's, the peak efficiency of the cartridge is with an 8" barrel and a 30cal suppressor and subsonic 220g ammo.

It matches very closely to the 7.62x39 ballistics with the efficiency of the 6.8spc but is still the middle of the road between the two being jack of all but master of none.

It is a very expensive caliber to have and shoot. You would be much better versed to get a 5.56 ar15 or 5.45 / 7.62 ak.

If ammo cost is a factor go with the 5.45x39 ak74, if you want best parts avaiablity for the platform go with the 5.56x45 ar15. if you are dead set on a 7.62 platform get an ak47 in 7.62x39.

I am now looking at the ak-74 and ar-15 platform. I would like something cheap to shoot. My buddy talked up the 300 and just bought one. You guys just talked me out of it lol.

Honestly your best bet would be to get a .22 for now. and wait for all of this to die down. Ammo is inexpensive and fun to shoot. I would get a good match quality 22 and you will have a blast. You will learn properly how to shoot breath control, wind holds, elevation calculations are critical. If you can call and 1st shot hit targets from 50-200 yards with good ballistics calculations you will be that much farther ahead of the game when prices come down and you want to start shooting a farther reaching caliber.

Or you could spend two or three times normal retail out of fear that if you don't buy it now it will be gone forever and support the price gouging.

Ooooorr third option. Enlist in the Marines and get s free rifle and ammo for as long as you are enlisted.
