how?? Like I said, ive run out of fuel more than once, and each time I dont think ive ever put more than 23 gallons in before the pump shut off...

I always put 1.5 to 2 gal. in after the pump clicks off. Just need to let the foam settle and squeeze a bit more in. Lather, rinse, repeat until I see fuel in the neck.

My scan gauge showed 1.2 gal left, and its usually pretty accurate. I had to fill up at this point cause I wouldnt make it home and back to the station, but as you can see I pumped 24.3gal, I have put in 25 many times.

How do guys run an aux tank in the bed with a gravity feed setup and not have fuel come out of the regular fill cap?

I plan on putting a titan tank and an aux in the bed, for some road trips since I get diesel cheap here local through a friend and would rather not have to fill up while out.

Fwiw the fuel meters are calibrated when the fuel is at a certain temp

Best to fill up in the mornings then you are not paying for the vapor:D
And not to mention they probably dont get the fuel meters calibrated very often a little bit of crap in the meter and it throws off the calibration a bit.......the more fuel, the more off it is.

Ive never had my tank in my bed overflow the stock tank just from gravity feeding it
Pumping it across is another story:angel:

I have the titan tank in the wifes truck and a tranfer tank in the bed for long trips. I carry like 185 gal of fuel. 185X22 mpg=4070 miles. Have a check vavle in it that auto fills the tank as the level goes down on the truck tank.

lots of fitment issues. Otherwise you would see tons of people doing this all over the place...

I dont get how they call it a 26 gallon tank. If I run out of fuel and then fill it up, I only put in a little over 23 gallons before its overflowing out the filler. It would be nice to be able to use that last 3 gallons.

yours must be special i put in 28 when mine is bone dry. and thats without rocking the bed.

I think they rate them low.

Our MX240 tractor is rated at 160 gallons. We had the tanks completely dry to replace the sending unit and i filled it with 200 gallons.

Sometimes i think they just guess.

Tie into your vent line. It won't overfill unless you take the cap off or pump it in!!

I have mine done this way with a carter pump and a filter inline. On long trips I use the pump to fill on the fly but just bombing around town, very rarely do I need the pump as enough leaks by it to trickle fill on it's own.
