Will be on a daily driver with the occasional drag race on the street. Was also curious if a trans tune is worth it

I run Ben's (bt diesel works) box on mine and have a good results. Street or strip it's great. I just leave it in auto for the most part.

I also run Ben's in auto all the time DD. Without it I just blow right through the converter all the time.

I've had Ben's box on my truck for roughly 5 years, it can't be beat. The auto function is a lifesaver. The DHD one works as designed but heaven forbid you forget to flip it back off, that's a hassle I didn't want so Ben's box was perfect for me.

I bought it used and had him update it, turn around time was 2 weeks between me sending mine in and him sending it back. Talked to him on the phone, he is a really busy guy so patients is key.

There are 2 codes that come up after installed but it's because of how you wire the box in, they are ghost codes basically they do not affect anything whatsoever.

Sounds like the bt one is better for a dd cause it has the safety features where the dhd one is more for just racing

What codes do you get?

Why not just run it T/H?

WOT, the shift and TC lock up pattern is the same between either mode.

I run the stock TCM setup with modded lock up tables. works like a charm every time and no extra buttons.

Drops line pressure.
Please correct me if I'm wrong since I've mostly only messed with the 5 speed and haven't messed with the lockup boxes but doesn't line pressure drop any time the TC locks unless the knockdown valve has been modified, ball removed and you have replaced the spring? Isn't that the only way to eliminate pressure drop. unless we are talking about the LML where, I believe, the TCM has partial control of line pressure?

Couldn't you swap the tables in the TCM with EFILive to start up in T/H and have the same effect with a built trans?
