==locked== stereo!! Please help!!

So i have another problem with an 05 chev 2500hd thats in our shop. After the truck received a used ecm and bcm the stereo display reads "locked" and will not come on or do anything!
How do you unlock the stereo????? Without having to go 200+km to the closest dealer.
Any help would be great!!

I think I heard something about this when I bought my truck. It has to do with stolen stereos. If something is not done, the stereo will not work because the BCM(?) does not have the correct serial number for the stereo so it will not work-the truck thinks the stereo is stolen.

It may take a Tech II to clear the issue.

A TECHII is the only way to reprogram the radio. But it most all the time takes a dealer because they have to have the GM programming

Yep. Tech2 with access to GM-TIS software.

When you changed the BCM, the VIN contained in it didnt jive with the VIN in the radio programming, so the BCM locked the radio. Im actually surprised any of the interior modules worked with the used BCM.
