I always use the auto(blue button) lock up for racing. My logs don't show lock up until 50mph. How can I get my converter to lock as soon as 2nd hits like it suppose to. Thx for your input.

Gonna go out on a limb and say its not working. Have you checked all your wires? Sounds like its just locking up when the tcm is telling it to on its own.

Are you swapping tires? did it work on the street?

I had a hiccup the first time I ran drag radials at the track. It didn't lock up (locks up perfect on the street with 305's) during the first pass down the track. Maybe it tripped out with the tire size change.

Are you looking at TCC slip to determine when it's locking or what?

I did swap tires. My 305's are 31" and the DR's are 30". I don't think an inch could make a big diff but I could be wrong.

You need to log turbine vs input speed as Ben said above ^^

Can you post a log of gear, turbine, input, and vehicle speed?

Also...it might not be reading throttle % properly. Is the light turning green as soon as you go full throttle? Or does the light stay blue?

Mine always goes green the second the converter locks.

OP, have you tried to reprogram the box for instant lockup. Its possible you got a bock that has "unlocked" programming features and it is set for a 1-2 second delay before it locks. I set mine for 2 seconds and it wouldn't lock till about 50 mph under full throttle. I set it back to no delay and it locks instantly as soon as it hits 2nd gear/full throttle. 6 speeds can/will lock in 1st gear. 5 speeds won't.

Mine goes green as soon as my throttle hits 95% or whatever its set at. If you don't think its lighting up green at full throttle then put the truck in run/no start and push the throttle till the light goes green.

If the light doesn't go green for 3 seconds then your delay is set for 3 seconds.

If your delay is set at 0 seconds, like its supposed to come from the "factory" then as soon as you hit 95% throttle as your slowly pushing the pedal down, the light will go green indicating lock up.

Like cknight said, turn the ignition to "run" without starting the truck. With your foot off the brake pedal, push the throttle down to the floor and count how long it takes for the light to go green. That tells you what the delay is set at without having to drive the truck and guess if the converter is locking or not.
