It has to be the long axis causing the irregular burn. But I'll take the strength of oval design and put up with a little more smoke or soot any day!!

Trade-off of the design...get 2 of 3 things..
We got strength and reliability and efficiency took a hit.

End of the day... They have served me well.

This is $$$ through crankcase... ~215k on block, ~250k on pistons, 47k on recent rings, which ptwc was .006".. limit is .010" I'm sure the SS rings I put in in june are chewing the wall up faster than the DI rings where.. probably pushing .008" or bigger now..
~12 weeks till retirement

200K+ on a rebuild the way you are running it in my opinion is a good life expectancy. These blocks were not designed to run at the required HP you are pushing for the number of hours per day / week / year that you run the truck.

How many miles are you getting out of a transmission rebuild / refresh?

Been watching oil pressure drop slowly last couple weeks.. normal was 65-70@2100 rpm I'm holding ~40psi now at 200-210° EoT..
Got couple gauges and started check for restrictions
.
I was seeing ~35-40psi drop from oil pump to #2 journal.. normal is 10psi at 200-210° EoT and idle
Drop the aux oil cooler and tested OEM cooler drop.. is 20psi.. should be ~5psi at idle..

Think I'm got to gut the OEM cooler and run the aux cooler straight

What's your thot on what exactly is plugging up the cooler? Did you ever put a new cooler on after any of the rebuilds? I read thru the whole thing, but forget...
