Guys I really need your help. I have 2 LB7 Duallys and they're great. But sometimes I'd like to use my '08 LMM ccsb to transport equipment with. I have a 2017 30' Gator gooseneck trailer. The GVWR is 24.9K and the maximum weight I can load is 16.7K. What I want to know is how much can I tow with the LMM and my configuration with a ball in the bed? The trailer alone weighs about 8200lbs.

Thanks for any insight.

The trailer I pull grosses up to 29,000lbs at times
Biggest thing is don't over load the tires, naturally are hold less weight than few trucks.. 2500-3000lb is bout limit for rear axle capacity of srw

Legally 8500 pounds.

Weight it and see what you have left to hit GCVWR. Best would be weigh it with the trailer.

Yeah I think I'll hit a scale and see. I'd hate to buy a hitch only to find out that I can only put a lousy 8500lbs on the trailer. Up here things are really different. We pay by the axle and when we register for IFTA tell them what our max weight will be. They charge us accordingly. If I remember correctly, for my Dually I registered it for 30K. If the truck isn't registered with IFTA and you leave the province with more than 26500K GCVW you're screwed.

In fl we pretty much never get picked on as long as we don't have commercial markings.

Get in an accident with that much weight your going to jail.

Oh I know, as overloaded as I was, I was still smart about it. After we hauled it about 800 miles home it never went more than 30 miles on the trailer.

32' dual tandem, elec hyd disc brakes, 10k axles, 14 ply tires etc..

Do you always ride around missing trailer tires?

First pic the mud truck and trailer belonged to a buddy. He told me all the tires and air were good and we could just hook up and go. We had 2 blow outs and no spares about 15 miles from the mud hole. Got to do what you got to do when you're in the woods.

Brakes didn't work worth a shit on that trailer either. We had a smoking hub by the time we got back home too. It was a real shit show. That was the first and last time I pulled that trailer.

Haha! I just noticed that too. Man if that happened here of literally be paying thousands of dollars in tickets. Just not having your inspections sheets with the codes yields you a $1127 ticket.

I thought maybe that was a new weight saving idea..lol.. I can understand that's why I bought a tandem dual gooseneck for my puller. So in the event of a blow out I could make it a ways.

would never haul big weight with one of those gatormade trailers, they are bad news with welds cracking and whatnot. but otherwise, i agree that if your are not reg. with a commercial plate you are good for whatever.
