This afternoon some buddies were out drag racing. This guy tried to perform a boosted launch in 4wd. Well by the pic you can tell his mods in the front end!

That is why you don't do a boosted launch with the front end cranked up.

Ya i warned him earlier that he should do a center link and sleeves. He was drag racing an 08 ford f-350 crew. The first race the ford beat him by a truck. The next time he put the truck in 4x4 after asking me and i told him to try it. Stupidity set in but i hate loosing to the other brands. I told him i will fix it for him & he needs front end mods!

The ford was h&s hotdamn tune i believe. The owner said 300+hp tune. He was able to do 4x4 boosted launches and run it up to 135mph in quarter. Pretty impressive but hard to judge trying to race 2x4 vs 4x4.

135 in the 1/4 with a just tune, and the other truck lost by a truck length launching in 2wd?? I don't think anyone here will buy that...

Oops you are right. I dont know why i put in the quarter down. It was more like in the mile!

Correct I did put Quarter. That was a typo. It was more like a mile that the guy claims to had 135mph. We were only racing quarter mile. I am sure he could run 135mph just not in the quarter. Sorry for the confusion. With all that aside 1 truck length apart in the quarter the Ford was fast. Damn it! I guess I need to break out the Bonestock Truck and try him out!

Matt,

I agree that would be something to add to the sale! It is a damn shame that these duramax trucks have so much potential but many week links that have to be addressed before you can really put the power down.

The 6.4 ford really suprises me that in factory form "Transmission and Front End" they are pretty tough. I guess it all depends on how fast a guy wants to go though.

What are some times those trucks have been running around 13-13.5?

I am a duramax guy for life but it was impressive to witness the speed of the ford:spit:! Next time it will be 4x4 boosted launches all the way around. My neighbor was running a 2010 cummins with a s300 based turbo and he launched well out of the hole but wasnt even close in the race. He also had H&S Hot Damn with minimax.

Yep, maybe should have used some of the money from that grille for some sleeves maybe ?

I am not sure which lift he is running but there are no aftermarket tierods or sleeves along with stock centerlink. He will be addressing that this week!

Suprised it didn't break when you hooked the sled in your avatar

Not my truck. I have a procomp lift with front end mods. Have pulled many times with a half a dozen or more 1st places. It seems to hold pretty good. :thumb:
