Official Post to not fill up the other one.
Ok so the heater grid is pretty much useless in warmer climate trucks, race trucks, and even the trucks that dont get cranked over in the cold.
The air intake heater grid comes on for a few minutes during warm-up, when the temp outside is, IIRC, below 40°F.
I pulled mine out, And built a spacer plate to replace it that matched the intake runner. Air now flows through a heck of a lot better, and no more restriction. I have had mine off testing for a few weeks now and everything seems to be golden. To un hook it you will need EFI Live to shut the MIL off that will set from it being unhooked.
I am having a few cut on the water jet now that look very nice, I'll get some pics up ASAP. I am selling these. PM me for info, Nobody here sells them so I don't think I am stepping on anyone toes by selling the.
Also I can Pre-Tap a hole in the side to tap in your boost gauge. Its a perfect spot so you dont have to drill you stock parts....(normally, you would tap boost in just before this part.
Here is a pic of the proto type I made, Its a little rough because it was not made on a waterjet. The ones I am selling are very nice looking and stock appearing. Where you see the bolt in mine, is where boost can be taped in.
again, this is a rough prototype. PM me if you are interested. Thanks.
