I've searched and am unable to find my answer.
I can turn high idle on my truck using the DIC buttons but everytime I go to start my truck I have to go in and turn it on again. Wondering why it doesn't stay on whether it's not capable or I have a problem. Just kind of a nuisance.

Not sure if it has anything to do with it, but I have to turn my high idle back on after I flash the computer. Never heard of one just loosing it for now reason.

It's almost like the truck loses its memory. High idle works great but I have to turn it on every time I wanna use it vs just working when below a certain temp.

Guess I didnt know there were two different ways. I'm assuming mi e is high idle seeing as I manually do it thru the dic buttons. With that said should I have to set it every time or should it stay selected as " on" in my truck

Mine doesn't have high idle, but the elevated idle says "ON" but its a joke, it was 26 the other morning and didn't work. If yours isn't staying on, check your voltage, sounds like its low enough to reset it.

For the ones saying it doesn't work, there are parameters that have to be followed for it to engage. Has to be below 40°, engine temp below 130°, IAT below 40°, no DTC's present, correctly functioning brake switch. I'm pretty sure there is something with temps from last start or something like that too. But it does work extremely well. My fully built truck still engages so you all might want to look into problems other than thinking "it doesn't work".

OP I really don't know what the heck would be causing it to loose its memory. Have you tried it with the pedals. Then key to " Run" press and hold throttle wide open, tap brake pedal 3 times, start engine after option is turned on? Might be worth a shot.

My elevated idle works with my check engine light on... I'm guessing a voltage drop might be causing your problems but that's just a guess

Mine never worked until I had my tune reworked. I never mentioned it not working that I remember. Now it works flawlessly.

I removed the air conditioner and it has a cel, but the elevated idle still works. I gave up trying to understand it.

Maybe certain codes keep.it from working. Had a truck that it wouldn't work with the CEL on, clear the code and it would work. Can't think of the code off the top of my head.

I know the parameters, I read my owners manual years ago. The elevated idle on my LLY came on at 40+ degrees even if for just a minute, the LMM did it as well last year and when it didn't it worked where it was supposed to, this year not one time has it worked regardless of the temps of truck or ambient temps.

Op, my LLY was bad about this a few times and it would reset when I cranked the truck up, my batteries was good enough to start the truck but to weak to save settings in the dic and at times even the radio

Pretty sure it's in the tune guys... I just tuned a LMM and they mentioned the elevated idle isn't working now, oops. I need to compare the stock tune to the modded one and see what I missed. I will keep you posted.

Me and my brother have lmls and tuning by PPEI and we can be in exact same conditions side by side and his will go into elevated idle and mine won't..

He just has dpf delete and I've went full retard on mine so I dunno if that could have anything to do with it but sure wish mine would work better..

It does work but has to be below freezing a bit, but his it don't have to be.. Kinda weird

You got that right!! It works extremely well. In 30 degree temps, it has my truck ect around the 160 mark on the factory gauge in 5 minutes. Enough to blow warm air thru the vents and knock the COLD out of the cab. Remote start + elevated idle + heated seats:D
