We have a 08 lmm with dpf and we bought a engine from a guy on this site. The engine he sent us looks to b a lmm however it is pre dpf. Everything should transfer right over minus the egr and dpf correct?. Wiring harness and everything else should b fine correct

It's probably an LBZ

Not sure yet but worse cas scenario if it is. What options do we have ?. And what's the best way to distinguish the difference for a non specialist. This info is for my brother in Florida. And he is not as versed as we r. And im a Lly lb7 specialist

Ok well while I'm waiting on the number I'm sure if it is a lbz. The lmm harness will not even come close to working correct?

LBZ has 2 rectangle shaped bell connectors and lmm has a round shape to them. I explained in another thread what all the differences are.

So we will need a wiring harness for lbz and everything else can switch from other engine! Correct? What about the ECM? The lmm ECM will work or is the same?

Don't understand the question. If you have an LMM truck, and you think you have an LBZ motor, then you will have to swap the wiring harness from the old LMM motor to the LBZ motor along with some other things.

Oh ok. I thought u meant vice versa with the wiring. So we should be good. We will just have. To swap some parts delete egr and the tuning should all transfer
Thanks for the info

So all the lmm tuning will work on the lbz engine or does he have to switch the turbo and injectors. Their resources r limited so I have to keep it simple

I bought a built LBZ engine 3 years ago and all I did was put my wiring harness off my LMM on it and everything was fine. Stock LBZ injectors will be very comparable to the flow of LMM's. Kind of wondering why none of my plugs were different.

Yes you can't run LBZ tuning in an LMM. The motors are practically identical. If you have the old one sitting there when you install the LBZ you can steal any parts off that you want anyways. The swap will be extremely straight forward.
