Whats the main difference between Finger's pistons and the new low compression Mahle with graphite skirt coating and valve reliefs? I liked the Mahle's, holding well at 650+ and extended time over 1500f.
Only suggestion I would add is drill out the oiler tips, helps piston cooling and gives extra lube to wrist pins.

Where is that test?

My data is on the water with the most hours logged to date in a marine setting. Over 300hrs and still going strong, with another member now.. WOT time measured in minutes, max EGT 1650 without failure. All well documented online, alnong with the pile of cracked and melted stock LLY they replaced.

So just wondered what is the actual difference, design is verrrrry similar. Maybe the exta oil helps?

More meat over the wrist pin area vs traditional circle bowls

That stands to reason for higher HP applications. The bowl design issues are well addressed in both I feel. Thanks
