Been working on my daily driver LMM for about 2 years now and finally got to the track with it looking to build it into a 7.70 class runner and looking for some advice from people who are running that class and daily driving there Duramax's.

Some info about the truck
2008 Cc/sb 320k miles not sure on weight
Hsp y-bridge and full intake and hot pipe
Built trans and rebuilt t-case with pump rub kit
Tie rod sleeves
ATP tuning
Air dog 165
Profab up-pipes and manifolds
Homebuilt traction bars
Probably some other small stuff I'm forgetting

Have ARP 425 I haven't installed yet

Truck went high 8's

What injectors and turbo's are people leaning to in this class

I'm thinking about 60% overs and cast 475 over stock but wanted input

I didn’t mean that it wasn’t possible to keep together, just that there were other recipes that may be easier on a 320k mike motor. 60 overs and a 475 would spool lightening fast, and one slip up with a tune that’s just a bit too hot could be bad. Especially with stock lmm pistons. An s468 or 68stg2r may be easier on the engine tho both still have the capability to window a block. If he doesn’t use the truck to tow very heavy loads on a regular basis, a bigger single may be a safer option for him to keep the hp up and tq lower. Spool can be tuned to pretty close to stock.

I ran a billet 475/stocker setup with 40% Inj with a stock pump and went 7.4x all day long in a CCSB stripped down some. M&H radials with QA1 shocks and Caltracs. Doesn't take much to get down there.

Why do I keep doing this?

You just need something a bit better than a stock turbo/injector setup and some weight reduction in the truck. Better tires wouldnt hurt, either.

Thanks for the input guys I appreciate it I am picking up 60% overs tomorrow from a friend he’s going big and the price is right and I’ll wait till I have a little time and more money for air before I throw them in

Next time I’ll drop the tail gate and maybe a roll pan in the cards for the future

Harbin_22 what all did you strip down?

Tail gate, bumper, hitch, spare tire/hanger, sway bar, washer fluid tank, second battery, and back seat was about it. Try to have less than 1/4 tank fuel. Just the radials on PYOs would loose hundred pounds of rotating weight. Really doesn't take long to get all that stuff off either.
