Hi everyone! I'm new to this site and just had a few questions. I just got my first duramax a few weeks ago. 2013 denali hd. I have been reading a lot about tunes and just can't decide how to go. I came from a spartan tuned powerstroke with all deletes. This denali is none stock with 108k miles on it. I am going to add a kennedy lift pump and filter system and do a full egr delete and 4 or 5 inch turbo back exhaust. Just not sure what tunes and from who. I will get a edge cts2 monitor. But i know efi live is the only way to go. If you dont mind letting me know your tunes and who you got them from and how you like them I would certainly appreciate it. Thank you!

TX of course
There are several threads on this topic. Please do a search and read up on them. There are certain aspects of tuning that we don’t want to continue to discuss that certain government entities have a problem with.

Just was discussing the ridiculous dead pedal on these trucks with my brother. I would look into a tuner other than ppei and someone that concentrates on improving the dead pedal. No problems or complaints about ppei. Just personal vendetta against the stupid dead pedal feel.

Naw instead it just pulls power back and shreads itself apart slowly and silently

Good thing I traded that one in on my 16...:spit:

Motor ops gets the dead pedal almost gone, I liked their tuning. Just don't settle for the first set, note what you don't like and have them adjust them. I got impatient and called Bob and had him retune mine twice...:D

I've only had ppei and Ridgerunner tuning on my old lml.. I just picked up a 16 and trying to decide on who to get myself.. I wonder how to go about finding out who has the least amount of dead pedal, you have any thoughts on that? It's annoying for sure..

I only have experience with stock & ppei. Motor ops supposedly has it dialed.... Guess I'll have to try sometime.

They have a hard time tuning a truck that is cp3 converted. Both of my friends who own CP3 converted LMLs have nothing but rail shudder problems.

If it were me I would be going to Danville for live tuning. Getting the tuner in the truck and conveying you're wants/intentions are huge.

Not really an option for those of us on the left coast.

Touche, I'm betting via email he can do a damn good job.

I’ve never ran his tunes but I’ve heard good things about them and I have had good luck with his products.

Only problem I’ve heard about Mark’s tuning is trying to get changes done or get ahold of him. Takes days and days sometimes I’ve been told. That’s what happens when you are busy I guess.

This is uncommon. With the exception of UCC I’ve never waited longer than a day for a response with mark

Let me rephrase :

This is not common in most expirences. I was stating my experience

That’s right. So how about just retracting the statement stating mine is false then cuz I have a buddy who is/was pretty pissed off recently about his experience. Typical or not.

I changed it to the word I should have used originally.

Thanks

My experience is such that anyone that is worth a lick is usually hard to get ahold of. Except for Josh H and Mike L-they both answer the phone and are good!
