I have a 2016 LML cab/chassis that is completely stock. When it goes down a hill (or more like over a bump) sometimes it will kick out of gear. The truck spends a good part of the day on the road and it really concerns me, has already put the driver in a bad spot.. For the record, I think it might do it more often on a cool morning. I have not noticed any excessive metal shavings or anything on servicing.

If the traction control kicks in, the torque converter will unlock. If you’re going down a hill and the torque converter is holding back, and your rear wheels go over a bump, it can feel like its jumping out of gear. Best thing to do would be watch the lock up and gear position on a scanner.

Press the traction control button to turn it off, press and hold to disable traction control and stabilitrak. It’s all explained in the owners manual.

What module controls traction control and stabilitrac, TCM? Let's say if one wanted to have it tuned out, is it as simple as disabling it through efi?

I would never take it out. It saved my ass a few times. Shit works good.

I literally turn it off EVERY time I get in the truck. The truck drives different with it off and I drive with the rear end a lot, especially in the winter. I’d remove it in s second if I could. Having it off has saved my butt.
