New here and new to diesels. I am looking at waking my truck up a little and have narrowed the tuner down to 2.

I am looking at either EFI LIVE or EZ-LYNK. I do not plan on deleting right now but will be adding a CAI and exhaust(4 " Duals)

Only looking at adding about 100HP. I don't want to stress the stock trans too much and from what I have read 100 shouldn't hurt it.

I also heard that the CP4 will be fine at 100HP. Thoughts?

Would like to get opinions and ideas. Thanks.

How many miles on truck , is it over 100000 , is it out of warranty , GM , and aftermarket You might not want to change to much till it is . Its good that you are aware of cp4 issue !

Has 65000 on it. Put those on it from new in about 1 year and 7 months. I drive ALOT!! Still have power train till 100000 but at the rate I am going, that will be out in a few months, so I am not too concerned about warranty.

Gonna keep emissions for now. I have read that it's getting hard to trade them in without it, so not taking that chance. I don't plan on getting rid of it but you never know.

Still up in the air on exactly what I want to do. May just go all cosmetic right now and upgrade performance later. Wanted to talk to some folks who have done the type of things I am looking at and see what their thoughts are.

A lift pump will help the longevity of your cp4 and be a good investment if you do throw a tune on it down the road.

Almost impossible to trade even tuned now, have to sell privately and if the person who bought it gets caught you pay to make truck compliant again. Not good. I believe our heyday is coming to an end. Hence why my 16 is stock...

I appreciate all the input so far. I have pretty much relegated myself to the fact that it is just not a good idea right now. Think I will make her look better for now and then make her run better later. Looks like a set of wheels, lift, and some amp power steps.

Depending on the shop a lift pump will void it too, if your cp3 goes out they will blame the lift pump, which in reality wasn't the cause. Basically if you want your warranty keep it bone stock and drive it, if they want to get nitpicky a lift and big tired will void a warranty too

ANY modification to power production will void warranty. If your friendly with your dealer they will let you get away with ALOT. My dealer basically let me do anything I wanted with no recourse but when I bought my 16 he told me if I wanted to trade it I had better not tune it. Said GM was getting funny about any tuned vehicles associated with anything or anyone corporate GM...:(

Weired thing is they could care less if I tune my Stingray, the head tech at my servicing dealer told me to do it. Basically, just like when I bought my LBZ, service manager offered me a superchips flashpac when I had my first oil change... Lol...
