LML deleted problems

My dad has a 2011 LML, recently had some DPF and DEF related problems and decided to delete it instead of fix the junk. It got to the point it was in limp mode or whatever before we got it deleted, basically wouldn't give you any throttle or power. Well now it runs great in 2 hi and 4 hi but if you switch it to 4 lo it says stabilitrac off and traction control off and feels exactly like before when it wouldn't give you any power or throttle. It engages 4 lo fine, just won't pull itself, limp mode I guess. What's the deal with that?? Anybody know??

I should add we have checked for codes in every darn module on the truck and there are no codes.

Who's tuning? I would suggest you contact your tuner as it sounds like you got an incompatible tune file installed in the truck. Problems like this are normally do to having a tune file that isn't meant for the truck, and it freaks out. If the tune is correct, then the next thing to look at would be the switches in the tune file as one is probably checked that shouldn't be or vice versa. With all the problems others who are far more experienced than I have encountered with LML's is why I don't do them.

That's the first thing I thought. Maybe clrussell will chime in here, he didn't make the tune but he installed it and I already talked to him and he talked to the guy that made the tune. I know he did read the stock file and send it to the guy that made the tune so you would think it should be compatible with the truck still.

Got the tune from tony, as I have about 5 other lmls with no issue. Read the operating system and all that and sent it to him.

I havnt tried reflashjng the truck, just thought of that.

Talked with Tony about it, he said it shouldn't be a tune issue. However we have not tried another tune.

I full flashed the stock file first then cal flashed the delete file as I always have.. Maybe something didn't take?

Not to take anything away from clrussell or tony, just looking for some ideas as I have not come up with any on my own. Hoping maybe somebody on here had a similar issue before.

Flash it back it stock and see if the problem persist. If it does it is in the tuning.

The stock file that I have to full flash in? Or use gm and flash it to stock?

Full flash it back to the stock file you have. Then read the calibration screen and compare it to what you sent Tony to see if it is the same. The LML trucks can be very finicky. Just one number or item off and it can or will go haywire.

Thank you, I'll give it a shot this weekend

Since you have done the deletes it will have service exhaust fluid system. It should be able to drive well enough to see if all other items work. 4 low is the only problem?

The 4 low only issue sure sounds like a switch or tune issue to me. Sounds like a torque multiplier is going haywire in 4 low pulling the torque down to next to nothing. I know I had problems with this with my LB7 not fueling in 4 low, had to make some drastic tune changes to the torque table to get fueling in 4 low.

If it is tune related it most likely will be torque related. Have you floored it from first gear and had any issues? Have you disabled traction and stabilitrak in 4 hi and tried boost launches?

Stock truck just deleted his dad drives.. Doubt it's had any boosted launches lol. I doubt he has even made a full throttle pass in it. I know when I test drove it it seemed to run ok.

His dad pulled his 35' camper with no issues except harsh shifting last week. Actually about got stuck and that's when he discovered the 4lo issue

I ask those questions because that should cause a limp as well if it's torque related. Flooring it in second or third gear would not necessarily set it.

Ok I'll see if it does that when I see the truck this weekend. Thanks again

We have tuned hundreds and hundreds of these, every once in a while one has an issue and it makes little sense when these occur.

I looked at and compared the file to all the others and it is set up the same as I always set them up.

When a shop/customer does 5 with no issue and one has an issue we will definitely look into it for them.

We do not leave our shops or customers hanging.

Working with Tony on this to see if we can resolve the issue. By no means we're we bashing him.

Thanks everyone for the help and we will keep you posted
