Has anyone had any weird issues with brake life being extremely short on their lml?

Just had a 2015 denali come in this morning with 30,000 miles on it and the front brakes into the metal. Right front caliper is pushed out so far it's started leaking.

Just thought it was odd considering the older trucks would run 100k with no issues on original pads.

Ours seemed to warp the rotors right away. The wheel shakes if you get in the brakes real hard and the brakes are warm.

Our's is loaded down often but I too thought the brake life was awfully short.

Here in the salt, brake pad life isn't the problem. The caliper pins freeze in their bores and you normally cannot get em loose at all. End up replacing entire assembly, caliper, pins, and bracket. Obviously new rotor & pads too. Rear are worse too. Every single time. Super expensive too because there are no aftermarket calipers avail yet. All Ac delco. $$ Just when I thought they couldn't get worse than the older trucks...

Where does a guy find a caliper? My gm sources say back order with no production date set..

Yup. 109k my truck does the same thing, original brakes as far as I know.

Its weird because the wheel shaking comes and goes. Maybe with how hot the brakes are? Sometimes I can get on the brakes hard at highway speed and its totally fine...other times I get on the brakes at highway speed and the steering wheel feels like full-on death-wobble, 2nd gen Dodge style...

Yes^^ I believe the rotors get warm and warp causing the shaking, then after they cool down and straighten back up the shaking is gone.

I've got 160k miles and haven't touched my brakes. Still feel perfect as far as I can tell.

I warped mine on the way home from pismo with the toy hauler wheel speed sensor went out which made me lose the trailer brakes.. Had the front rotors turned new pads and 10k miles later and haven't experienced any more wobble

I was actually thinking about starting a thread like this the other night, voicing my frustrations with these things. Everyone i work on anymore is horrendous shape brake-wise. And the pins wont even break free from from caliper bracket, which means it's one big piece of scrap metal at that point. Caliper, bracket, and pads. Rotors were junk in the first place, which is the aftermath of the caliper pin sticking in the bore not allowing the caliper to release and/or apply.

The only good thing about the brake system on the new chassis is its braking power and the rear dust shields/parking brake assembly are a lot more stout now.

Hopefully this thread isn't too dead...I have a slight steering wheel wobble as well. 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 HD CCSB with Duramax 56xxx miles. I usually only notice it while the brakes are pretty warm/hot. While towing and slowing off the interstate or empty and slowing off the interstate but not every time. Anyone with similar issues find the fix? I am thinking of either turning rotors or checking ball joints? Maybe slotted rotors? Any help will be appreciated.
