Hey guys wife text me this morning

Wife: your truck is f-Ed up

Me: ok

She loves to just tell me stuff like this and not tell me what's wrong.

Anyways after a lengthy interaction she tells me it's pouring black smoke only going 30mph cruising and it sounds like the A/C is fluctuating with the throttle.

I'm having a buddy go by tomorrow and check the intercooler tubes and boots, y bridge and up pipe can anyone think of anything else that would cause this other than my wife :roflmao: no codes except the p0670 that's been there for a year or so.

Is your egr blocked? Stuck open egr valve can cause this.

Yes egr completely removed with plates installed over ports.

And that's what's making me think it's a intercooler tube or the up pipe seem to remember someone comparing a cracked up pipe to " making a duckface and blowing with jaws clinched lol"

If the factory Y bridge was coming apart would that cause the issue?

Yes that would cause a boost leak. The o rings junk?

No idea I just remember when I was home last I was fixing some wires a squirrel are on my FPR and noticed it was able to wiggle so I pushed it back in and tried to make sure it was secure.

Make sure to have your mechanic friend clean the inside of that coupler thoroughly, and he might want to use some hairspray on it to give it some more "tack", too.

I see it, that black plastic wix fuel filter is junk.

Thanks guys he got it back together and cleaned it up before hand. Gonna go ahead and order some pipes from HSP this week. As for the wix it's all I could get to get me back on the road at the time I had just done my lift pump and the one I had in there was leaking air. Working on figuring out the thread pitch and o ring seat so I can make a cat adapter in my spare time.

Make sure the rib on the inside of that boot didn't get damaged or you will never keep it from blowing off.
