LLY: lly turbo removal

Has anyone tried removing the cartridge and front cover from a vvt in the truck without removing the exhaust housing? Can it be done?

i did, no problem , mine was a lbz, used spray glue to hold vains in possition for reassembly : george

i wondered this also but since i plan to go with a 72 DV i will just have to remove the whole thing anyway.

I would! But this is coming from a guy who gets pissed when someone leaves my windows rolled down in a shop to get dust in it

just enough to hold in place to assemble , burns right off , do you realize how hot it gets in their ;george

No I didn't. I just thought it was like a box fan in there with a little pressure

the glue will burn right off spray adhesive right? i wouldn't do it, but if i was in a bind and didnt have time i would try it.
