What kind of costs are incurred with a swap like this? From everything needed, seems the price would be north of $10K (Engine, Tranny, ECM, TCM and associated components).

Do the EGR delete on whatever engine you put in. That makes my LBZ so much better running hard to describe until you feel it both ways from dealer and deleted. Lift pump on fuel line and free flow air filter is a simple nice running truck.

Have you heard of anyone trying to just use the LBZ motor with all of the LLY wiring harness, ecu, tcu, trans and turbo? I know that people grind a tooth off of the reluctor wheel to make the shortblock work.

On another note, I'm usually up for a challenge, if it is cost effective. This time I think that I'll have to take the path of least resistance. I called the guy that I bought the LBZ from and he has an LLY with low miles with all assoriys wiring harness, and turbo for $500 more. I'm going that rout. That way I will have a spare of every part.

Fill out your sig, so we know what your working with. For your 04.5, an lbz is not much work at all. It would probably only take you another 8hrs, since your already swapping the Lly out.
