Lly or lbz

What can the lly or lbz stock pistons and rods handle, looking at getting a lbz or lly sold the lb7 which gets better reliabilty plan on compound turbo, 40%over, dual cp3, lift pump 200gph, trac bars, allison upgrades, head studs, roller rockers, push rods ect.

Lly means good pistons but bad rods
Lbz means bad pistons but good rods

It's a no win situation. Most say to keep it under 600hp. Either way, lly has head gasket issues...I'd say lbz :D

If you're talking dual pumps and twins I'd hope you're planning a fully built motor. And in that case I wouldn't shy away from either since you'd be upgrading both engines weak points.

yes plan on fully built motor but for now just want to se what kind of power i can push before i need to start renforcing. so a better question would be can the stock pistons and rods lbz hold with compound turbos and head studs with 40 % overs and dual cp3 and lift pump a good set up with efi live ?
