Question: lly mpg?

hi. just got my first Dmax its a 2005 sle crew cab sb 2500hd
i was wondering what are you guys getting as MPG empty and loaded?
fully stock?

well after fueling it after the 4th time. i'm getting 12.1 on 3rd and 4th tank 12.9? and thats mixed driving like a granpa.
highway/city' is it normal for a diesel, my '94 5.7tbi (in top notch shape) i get 10-11 mixed.

My LLY had some work done to it and a S475 but on our roadtrip to AK I averaged about 21mpg but got a high of 23.2 mpg and saw about 16.5-17.5 mpg in San Diego gridlock

I consistently get just a touch over 19mpg if I don't tow or idle any. 90% highway at 70mph. Only mods are a 4" exhaust, fass supply pump, ~400 rwhp tune, rear lowered 2.5" and 285 all terrains on stock wheels. Still breathes through the stock paper air filter.

Yeah it was a CCLB 4x4, 5" exhaust and muffler, no cat, built trans, drop shackles and lowered tbars on 305/50r20s and rockstars, Airdog and S475 with a 1.10 housing...laggy as hell so cruise was with zero boost and EFI tuning by a friend not a big name tuner

Hwy mine will push 22 driving the speed limit, city driving is closer to 14.

Done simple maintenance like fuel filter and air filter? Sometimes it's the little things that can rob power and mileage

I have a buddy with an lly basically identical to mine and he gets crap fuel mileage. Always has. Even running my tune good for 19mpg in my truck he's lucky to see 16. Crazy how different things can be truck to truck.
