I'm going to wrap my my manifolds and up pipes so I might as well. I never realized how close it was to that pipe.
I think it's funny that gm put a heat shield on the pas motor mount which is no we're near as close but didn't do anything for the coolant pipe.

Well update.
Haven't touched the truck for a few months due to life covid and the fact that I picked up a used 2012 CTS V Wagon about 3 weeks ago.
Because of this I don't have the money for the trans at the moment so I'm shelving the 472 kit for now and will stick to my original plan which kinda sucks cause the kit and trans will be so much easier to do now since the motor is out.
But o well.

Truck runs good for a stock tune i think. Lol
A few questions though as this is my first vv truck.
Tell me about what vane position should be. Like at an idle or driving around or full throttle?
I've towed with it and am only getting up 18lbs of boost which seems low to me.
I've read that it should cycle 0-100% at an idle here and there but I'm only seeing up to 80% is this bad?
Thanks for any input.

I like that EGR riser.

What are you reading the position with? If your truck is idling it should do a vane sweep once it reaches operating temp IIRC. Do you have a way to command 100% ?

I'm just reading with an edge insight monitor.
Pretty sure I could use my efi to command it.
How often is it supposed to sweep to 100%?
Mine is doing it every time I come to a stop while driving and if I'm stopped for a bit it will cycle multiple times. Just never hits 100%.

Different trucks obviously but if mine is just idling it sweeps pretty often. Can’t say I’ve watched it close enough to say it’s hit 100% though or not.
