LLY: LLY Fuel In Oil Issue Need Help

I’ve been fighting an LLY for 3 weeks now. The only saving grace here is that the truck belongs to a tech so there is no retail customer breathing down our necks.

Originally, the truck came in with a fuel knock and a balance rate of +2.42 on the #2 cylinder, he wanted to just change #2, I warned him the rate on #5 would probably change as its compensating. Did so anyway and sure enough #5 went bad.

So he decided to do the other 7. After that, it ran like a bag of shit with balance rates of:

1 -2.74
2 +.094
3 –4.70
4 +1.47
5 +.16
6 +1.33
7 +1.48
8 –.088

So at this point, I’m up against a wall and I give him 4 more to change the odd # bank, well, no better now.

1 +6.73
2 –2.94
3 +1.03
4 +1.21
5 +1.59
6 –1.30
7 +1.55
8 +2.16

So now what do I do?

I wouldn’t point the finger at the injectors if it wasn’t for the fact that in the last month I have had 3 dead LB7 injectors “brand new outta the box”...completely dead, +15 rates, no ohms, zero zip nada from these guys.

To top it all off, I've got fuel in the oil, which I've never seen on an LLY. My research tells me that a CP3 seal leak can cause that, but my fear is that one injector is washing down a cylinder.

Anyone have any insight on this? I'm thinking swap out all 8 with a different supplier.

Aftermarket, reputable big production brand, would rather not name unless I am 100% certain they are at fault. I don't like calling out a company unless it is justified.

I'd change suppliers. Get some Bosch reman. The fact that you had 3 brand new outta the box not working would have sent me somewhere else already..

Well, 3 out of several hundred isn't exactly deal breaking to me. All brands GM/Ford/Dodge included I'm at maybe 20 bad injectors total (not including this deal) out of over 1500 injectors.

I would be curious to see what a compression test would show... If the cylinder has been washing for a while it can destroy the cross hatch completely, causing low compression and fuel dilution in the oil. As mentioned above the only other place would be the shaft seal on the CP3.
