Anybody know what it takes to swap a LLY for a LML? I can get a 2012 wrecker with good powertrain and I was thinking of putting it into my 04. Can it be done or is there to much of a technology gap for everything to work properly? I have all the wiring from the wrecker too. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Are you planning on putting the six speed trans as well or just the engine? If it all ready had a lly in it, I would put the lly top end on the lml short block, that way it is the easy to do. Other wise make a standalone harness.
x2 on just using the lml shortblock. Change out crank sensors and reluctors.
Does anyone know if the cam is different?
I know on the 6.7 Ford they did some different stuff because of the piezeo injectors and multiple pilots in the cam department.
Not to say that cam won't work or be better, but I just thought we oughtta know what we are getting into.

I would use transmission and tranfer case if she fits. I would like to just drop the engine in as is what is a standalone harness?
