Sorry to be absent, just wanted to get things handled through ATS before ranting on the internet.

They covered the parts, sent me a $3K kit, I was on the hook for labor. So, as far as ATS they came through. Rememeber, I didn't buy this trans so technically they didn't have to cover it. ATS Warranties don't cover ownership transfers, so in that regard they hooked me up.

Had whole new kit, converter, whole 9 installed. I left the co-pilot out, it's for sale on Ebay.

I know people have said to keep that stuff out of the trans and this and that, but free is free. Next time it breaks, I'm out of warranty and on my own. I'll most likely go a different route or drive the truck down a boat ramp in neutral lol.

Trans has been in for a bit, everything working great. Thanks for all the advise, hopefully in 9K miles I won't be back here belly aching-

The seal on the piston looked to have been ripped on install, or at some point. Also the install guy said the plates were starting to pit.

Well at least you received parts and are up and running. What I don't understand is in post #38 you imply that ATS repaired the transmission once already and this is the second go round. So why no FULL warranty coverage?

Thats what pisses me off about the warranty they offer is for some reason you always get beat up on the LABOR!! Happened to me !! Now after a huge issue Clint did send me a new converter but WTF that means once again I have to pull the transmission in order to install!! If that was given to me prior for labor then it would have been great! But it didn't happen that way ,so I sold it to recoup some money I was out of pocket.

So IMO they should have foot the whole bill IF this is the second go round of a failure since you owned the truck. They always find a loop hole to get out of labor. IMO parts to them are dime a dozen it's labor that racks up the bill.

I wouldn't sell the co-toilet if I were you I'd save it even if you don't want to use it so it stays with the transmission. Not sure you will own it forever or not and the next owner probably would want it. Thats just my O.

Glad to see you got up and running but to say ATS kind of saved the day, not so sure something is better then nothing yes but ...........

I bought it from person that installed the ATS. It failed the first time the day I bought it, left me stranded in a snowstorm with no cell phone coverage.

Basically gave the truck back to previous owner and said I would re-buy it with a working trans. He fixed it, thru ATS and I bought it. So, when I got the truck it had a fresh ATS trans in it that cost me nothing. Lasted 9000 miles and here we are.

Back on the road, all good for now-

Ok then I guess your right and have nothing to complain about . I kind of jumped to a conclusions as I never got a clear answer on the first failure you had. So for ATS to give you free parts was a good deal on their behalf. I redraw my negativity towards ATS on this particular issue.

Me bum is still chapped over my issue although. :roflmao:

Ya I know let it go , maybe some day.

Glad you are on the road again! All that matters here is that you are happy and I applaud you for giving them the chance to right the wrong. Do keep us posted on how the trans holds up. It seems the horror stories only make it to press and not the successes of good units they pump out otherwise.
