ATS wants me to run the trouble tree for that code, eliminate the truck giving the trans bad info. Measure ignition voltage, check for erratic speed sensor data, line pressure during shifting, stuff like that.

To be continued....

Thanks Mike, they emailed it to me.

And there really is no warranty fight, their warranties don't transfer owner ship. I bought a POS truck and I have to deal with it. The previous owner is in jail, and that's a good place for him.

All things aside, I just want this thing to work. I just want a stock trans to be honest.

If there is no warranty ,I doubt this will be a quick fix ,I hope it is but I doubt it is, just drop it and rebuild it and be done with it. I know it sucks but by the time your done running the tree your going to want to jump out of it at the highest point.

Well, even though I think it's smoke n mirrors- I think the trouble shooting still needs to happen. What if I drop the trans, spend $5K to put new stuff in it and it happens all over again.

People can say what they want about the ATS trans, I'm still neutral. I don't care who built it, it should last more than a year. Something has to be up.

I read about all these guys towing and pulling sleds and beating on their stuff, all I do is take mine to starbucks. I'm really easy on this thing.

I wouldn't put new stuff in if it was me ,but it's not,I'd swap it for a complete built Suncoast. So it won't happen again unless it is a TCM issue or wiring harness. When it comes to ATS it seems you get stood one or you don't .
That's my opinion.

I have so far been lucky. When I had the second one installed I broke it in like a baby. I put 200 miles on it stock and slowly turned the power up 200 miles at a time. Was it key? Don't know first one I put it on kill and it lasted less then a month if I recall.

I wish you the best of luck I really do but if you haven't dropped the pan I would. If you see debris in the pan it's every where.

Would having EFI live have anything to do with anything? If electronics is a consideration, I wonder if my tow tune could be causing the drama?

a tow tune with a stock turbo'd truck wouldnt make any difference IMO unless its a poorly written tune.

living in seattle id just drop the trans and ship it to Mike L if possible. build it right for the last time and be done with it.

good luck

If someone could guarantee that would fix it, that would be one thing. If the truck is giving the trans bad info, replacing it with a brand new trans would do (or could do) the same thing.

Plus if that's really where I'm at, I'll just drive it until it falls on the ground and replace it then.

My stage 2 w copilot is starting to slip the 3-4 shift pretty often now but its been in for about 2 1/2 years. Throws a solenoid code every so often too. Not sure whats going on. Gonna have mike do my next one but not sure how much to build for yet.

It's got a 50HP tow tune and a 'cleaned up tcm tune' from rob at ATP. Had all these symptoms before I put tunes in-

Haven't tried that, although most people are saying it won't make a difference.

I'm going to pull some data off it tonight via EFI live and see what's up, try to reset a few things and send data to ATS... and here of course.

I appreciated all the insight.

This is exactly what mine did when the C3's wasted down to the metal........It isn't a programming problem, shit has hit the fan mechanically.

great, that's the worst new I've heard yet. Especially since that happened a year ago when I bought the truck.

he would have a pan and filter full of clutch material. there is none based on what we have been told.

Flash the factory tuning back into it and go drive it.
