Lifting a $50K Truck

Preface: I'm from backwoods Alaska where the only lifted trucks are old beat up gassers that get the crap beat out of them offroad

Just wondering why since I moved to Cali I see Duramax trucks with disgusting amounts of money dumped into suspension lifts and wheels and tires....I see one particular individual on DP constantly blabbering on and on about lifts and how he's adding this or getting a 10-12" lift instead of his current 7-9" and it literally drives me insane...I mean I know it's there money to spend as they see fit I just do not understand it this guy says, for example, he wouldn't want to trim fender liners on a 50k truck...so if you can't cut the fenders..the next question asked naturally is well what's the use of a lifted truck, surely it can't be taken offroad and beat on if you couldn't bring yourself to cut plastic...I just don't get the point in lifting it stupid high in the first place...maybe cause I'm short...maybe cause I'm about function over form....but it makes me f'n crazy

We don't close many threads here, but this one is heading that way if it doesn't turn into a more civil discussion on pro's cons of lifting trucks and not a bunch of posts filled with name calling or insults!!!

Now, seeing as they haven't locked that thread yet over at DP, I suggest you take this nonsense back over there. This includes the OP!! Lift it, Slam it, Cut the box off it-I DONT CARE!! Nor does 95+% of the other members here.

X2 i appreciate quality work , i don't care about what its built for , that is up the the one building it or paying for it , after its there hard earned money . What do i know , i destroyed the nicest truck i have ever owned , just to go fast/ faster :rofl: but its my $$ so any one who doesn't like it can kindly STFU
