Preface: I'm from backwoods Alaska where the only lifted trucks are old beat up gassers that get the crap beat out of them offroad

Just wondering why since I moved to Cali I see Duramax trucks with disgusting amounts of money dumped into suspension lifts and wheels and tires....I see one particular individual on DP constantly blabbering on and on about lifts and how he's adding this or getting a 10-12" lift instead of his current 7-9" and it literally drives me insane...I mean I know it's there money to spend as they see fit I just do not understand it  this guy says, for example, he wouldn't want to trim fender liners on a 50k truck...so if you can't cut the fenders..the next question asked naturally is well what's the use of a lifted truck, surely it can't be taken offroad and beat on if you couldn't bring yourself to cut plastic...I just don't get the point in lifting it stupid high in the first place...maybe cause I'm short...maybe cause I'm about function over form....but it makes me f'n crazy

Well of course if they can't cut/take out plastic fender pieces what makes you think that they take that giant pavement princess on a trail haha...

It would be cheaper to cut the plastic and add the bigger tires, then just put on the smaller size later before you sell it and buy the new plastic pieces that you cut if your that anal, than to trade/change lifts kits. The guy was just looking for an excuse, nothing more, nothing less. The same guy could possibly sell the truck in 6 months to a year because he "needs the money." I am not speaking for all of them, just some. ;)

I believe we are talking about the same guy...he also likes to "flip" trucks as he puts it and sells the truck he bought 6 months ago and put a couple of grand worth of work into for 5k+ which while yes it is a money making scheme to me it is just that...a scheme/scam which I don't agree with. His name is JOKERGERM by the way and he's the same guy who ran his mouth about "borrowing" (see stealing) tunes...pretty much King Toolbag

Personally I don't see anything wrong with lifted a truck. I have a lift on mine and don't like trimming if I don't have to just to keep it looking a little better. Mines also clean 99% of the time but gets taken off road. Next truck I would like to have sitting on 38s but time will tell. Even if its that lifted I can still use it for towing or hauling ass down a track.

I have a local guy that has a 6 inch cognito and 35 inch BFG KM2's and he uses the truck hard off road, on road, all the above. I don't think I have ever seen anyone use a pickup harder then him. He needs the lift, actually he needs an entire long travel front IFS suspension.

Definately not a road princess.

a lifted cclb 4x4....11" CST lift with 40" tires 22" Rims.......that was my original plan,
would i take it off road, yes.light off roading that is. i myself dont have a need for a truck like these but when i saw one liftted like i described .......i was like "I gottz to get one"....somewhere along the way i foun out that they can be quick too, which was also very appealing, but i still fantasize about it being lifted ........yes lifts are rather useless on pavement, but what the heck. id lift it in heart beat if i had the14k to get it how i want.i guess when you actually use your truck for its actual purpose...it compromises the fun factor. Sounds like you have Diarrhea of the mouth, buddy...........

You don't have to agree with a goddamn thing that I do. No one was asking your for you approval what so ever. And yes I want a lifted big duramax, its not just a pavement princess, I use it off road responsibly, no im not going to pound the shit out of it, I use it as I see fit with out hurting it. with in its limits

And where did you go to school??? buying something at a "LOW" price and selling it at a "HIGH" price is not a scheme. Its called being a business man. If someone wants to pay it. and there happy and im happy how is that a Scheme?!!! Sorry I went to college and know how to buy and sell wisely. Get your shit straight before you come to another board and start running your mouth about me. I have done nothing to you, Sorry you had to read my posts. If I bother you so much DONT READ THEM!

And I never said I would not trim my fender liners, I said I would not CUT THE METAL on the fenders. Seriously if you have a problem with me driving a lifted truck and putting money into it and or making money on the side, SEND ME A PM AND TELL ME don't babble on another dam forum about me and have other members tell me that you are doing so, and making your self look pathedic

Sorry you have such a problem that i went to business school and i can make a buck or two selling trucks every six months to a year, and get to drive a sweet truck..................Anyone who calls that a scheme needs to go back to school

Also you need to read a little better, i was not stealing tunes. I am new to EFI live and i started a thread about what the rules were about tunes and how tuners looked at it. Sorry for trying to learn and understand things im just a bastard huh?
Seems you have nothing better to do but cause drama and stir shit up, same kinda guy that kicks you when your down.

Great job bud...........

I don't see what's so wrong with what he's doing. It's his truck and his money. When I lifted my truck and put 37's on it people said the same thing to me. I use my truck off road, truck pulling and I pull 12's all day at the track with my 37's. Then Monday comes and I hook up the trailer and go to work. Yes I will say that I beat the shit out of my truck. But I also love my truck and keep dumping money into it. Why? Because I can. To each their own.
