I'd put an Airdog on there and call it a day. easy install and the money is change compared to your CP3 and injectors.

I agree. You just can't argue with great filtration/water separation. Not to mention making the cp3 do half the work now. One would have to conclude you are prolonging HP pump life. Wix/OEM filters ain't cutting it.

If you want to cheap out do the Kennedy pump.
Then buy a NIcktane/UDP adapter for the stock filter head which will allow you to use a spin on Cat 2 micron high efficiency filter (cheap) which will give you longer change intervals as well. The 1R0750 or whatever is 15-20 bucks tops? Way cheaper than a 10 micron AC Delco or a Wix. Sorry no offense but this is a no brainer.

What???

If I understand the rest of your post, you converted your 6.5 truck to a 6.6, and are still using the 6.5 lift pump, successfully. I see a van 250hp tune listed also. Do you know if you are near the limits of that pump being able to keep up?

Thank you for your posts. I'm learning alot here guys! :thumb:

yes the 6.5 lift pump can keep up with a 250hp tune. and most likely a stock LB7 which is 300hp.

the dmax injection system is open when the engine is off... allow fuel to be cycled through
6.5 injection system is closed when engine is off... mean fuel pump builds pressure and sits against it gets hot and eventually burns up.

as for not flow through... gravity will syphon fuel out of my tank through the lift pump with pump off.

Put on an Airdog and delete the factory filter. Better filtration, a pump and flow thru design. You will get your money back not having to buy the factory filters anymore.

The 6.5 has a popoff built into the return fitting in the pump that regulates pressure that way, so it isn't fully closed when off. It's your choice, but with the 6.5 pumps track record i sure wouldn't trust it. And the 6.5 pump is the same pump GM still uses for fuel transfer pumps, and they SPECIFICALLY use it because it isn't meant to free flow when off due to it's check valve design.

im sorry my bad.. just like the hyden fan clutch, running a 4L85E behind a dmax with 50% more weight then the avg board member here does with their allison and for some reason almost everything i have done you and other have said wouldnt work....

then lift pump runs alot cooler to the touch and quieter on the dmax then the 6.5.. if /when i start out runnning the pump i will up grade untill then it stays and works very well. i have less then 500psi difference between command and actual rail pressure

I believe I told you that HAYDEN fan clutch would lead to a blown engine, and what happened less than a month later? And I have to hand it to you your 4L85E has held alot more than I ever thought it would, then again you are running a detuned DURAMAX OTR.

how crankshaft flaws related to an engine that never saw above 205* coolant temp? while i was driving it?
which ran same core size as a dmax which is rarely above 200* with same fan that was on the 6.5

outside bumping timing and removing the torque managment and defueling i dont have a spare tranny yet to risk turning the truck up
