lift pump question

Don't take this wrong as some might and don't want to make this a warranty thread but it is something to consider before drilling a hole in a perfectly good tank. What would the dealer have to say regarding the warranty after drilling and installing the sump and for a stock truck I don't believe you need one...
I have no sump on my 2011... You only really need one if you need high volume, or the internal pickup is otherwise impaired.
The 1/4 tank problem only happens when there's a large amount of debris in the tank that plugs off the factory screen. I bought my truck used, so I puckered before I got it fired up... I had less than 1/8 of a tank, lol

I'll say this my truck on a hill will only drop pressure on my gauge at 1/8 tank. Other then that just fine 260 fass an a draw straw.
I can run my tank til it says 40 miles til empty. Other then hills it drops fuel pressure on my gauge to 5 then picks up.
I have an Air Dog II 165 mounted on the crossmember just in front of the fuel tank on my extended cab. That puts the lift pump between the front and rear seats. I can not hear it running (before the start of my engine or after starting the engine) at all and without crawling under the truck and actually putting my hand on it would be the only way to know if it is working.

I had an airdog 165:rofl: for about 3.5yrs before it went out, have a fass 150 now. Both were loud but can't hear them while driving. Sump was installed when the truck was new, had a leak last year. Look into fass's draw straw options if you're worried about it.
×2! When I put a lift pump on my lly it was loud and always under a heavy load. In the winter around -10 and colder it wouldn't run...(before and after the lift pump). After I installed a beans sump it is so quite and smooth, plus it runs in the cold with no issues. I'm assuming my factory pickup straw was cracked or partially plugged. So if your lift pump is nice and quite I wouldn't add a sump....only if your having issues.
