I dont see how it could effect the FICM:confused:

I could easily be wrong as I'm not all that familiar with the workings of the fuel system...but doesn't the FICM use fuel flow to cool the electronics? I was under the impression that the FICM is only designed for a certain psi and 12 psi seemed to be the magic number.

If I am way off, I apologize...

Dont apologize:hug: I have heard the same thing many times,I just dont believe it.

The fuel flows on the outside of the electronics it doesnt actually touch any wires or mix with it. It makes one "U" shaped pass that is formed into the back of the FICM.

I think the deal was excessive psi put tension against the circut board? Yes fuel cools it. But i would like to open a fried FICM to verify how or if PSI can affect it. I doubt fuel actually contacts the circut board. However mine leaking fuel from around the case was a curious deal. I didnt want to open it to find out:eek: But tightening the screws stopped it and havent had any issues since. Like said, it does lope at idle but giving mine any throttle drops the psi down some and iirc 8-9 psi at WOT

I'm not sure about actually being hard on the FICM, but an unregulated Holley Black (approx. 15psi) on our '02 made it lope something fierce...Not even close to being tolerable...I agree with Mike, can't be a good thing...

Ahhhhh, thanks Simon! Thats an LLY FICM is it not? My LB7 the inlet/outlet are right next to each other on the top. But the insides are prolly the same?

sounds like while it may not be bad at first, it will end up doing some damage in the long run which is not worth it in my opinion.

Useing a boost reference would be probably the best way to do it.

Keeping the pressure low when not needed and utilizing the pressure at WOT
