I am shopping for a 4 inch lift kit for my 2008 GMC 2500HD. It has 180,000 miles and I use it for a daily driver or towing a 8000# load. I am going to run 33 inch tires.

I can adjust the height on the trailer coupler so I will not need a drop hitch.

Any recommendations? Rancho Tuff Country or Rough Country? The Tuff Country is -$600 less than the Rancho and both kits I priced include new shocks.

Full throttle has been great for me & my 3500 even towing. Had cst on my 2500 and it was good also. Depends on the money you wanna spend & remember you get what you spend.

not in lifts. some lifts are shit and you spend good money for them. some lifts are built and engineered well but are very well priced.

the tough country 1 peice subframe is a very good lift. Even the 3 piece is a nice product. high hp sled pullers have been using that kit for a long while to run 33s or 35s and keep clearance.

i wouldnt hesitate on a tough country lift and ive been around A LOT of different lifts lol

I run a 4 " Rancho on my Lbz, love it. Also tow a 16k toyhauler with no issues, trailer sits level.

MAYBE I WROTE WHAT I MEANT WRONG. I MEANT SPEND THE MONEY ON A LIFT THAT FITS YOUR NEEDS & WHAT YOU USE IT FOR. NOT THAT THE MOST EXPENSIVE IS THE BEST SORRY. I WOULDNT BUY A KELDERMAN AIR KIT WITH A TRUCK THAT HAS A BUNCH OF HORSE POWER IN IT. WHAT I MEANT WAS SPEND WISELY TO YOUR NEEDS. IT IS YOUR SUSPENSION AFTERALL. NOT KNOCKING ANY OTHER KITS IVE HAD RCD, FABTECH, COGNITO & OTHERS STATING WHAT I FELT HAS BEEN BEST FOR ME. :thumb:

I really like my zone kit. I think bds makes them??? Its a 6 inch kit but i have it lowered so my front cv's are level and im using three inch blocks in the back. I bought it without shocks and bought my own fox shocks for it. Install was really easy and straight forward, then i added cognito steering braces since i couldn't use my DHD one. I already had the rare parts tierods. And i have done boosted launches at the strip with this set up and it worked out awesome. I like that the zone lift came with these reinforcement bars that go from the control arm drop bracket to the trans cross member. If you use this lift lowered like i am only use stock upper control arms, not the ones that are for leveling kits because the ball joint angle will be off. Anyhow i really like this kit and it rides awesome and feels great for me. The way im running it i can clear 33x12.5x20 tires on 20x12 wheels with -44 offset with very minor trimming and still have flat cv's

I'm lucky, Diesel Addiction is about 30 minutes from me. I'll going to let Dustin figure it out and just use my checkbook lol

Why can't you use a arms with it lowered?

Well when I bought my lift i also bought zone's upper control arms to go with it but they are designed for when the torsion bars are cranked up to correct ball joint angle. They worked but i didnt like the angle of the ball joint for how low i was running the lift. And then when i called them to return them they acted like i was nuts and that cv shafts aren't meant to be flat lol

If you flip the arms and swap sides, then your new arms should work with your kit lowered.

Any idea how much my mileage will drop when I add the lift and increase tire size?

4 inch lift w/ 33
or
4-6 lift w/35?

2-3mpg but tuning and many other variables affect this issue too much for me to say it will be a straight 2-3mpg
