Every vehicle I have owned since '01 has been color matched and I will continue to do it on future vehicles!

Krylon fusion plastic paint works awesome! That or plastidip. The fusion is more glossy smooth finished as the plastidip is more textured rubberized finish. Both come out great none the less. I use acid etch 8 primer before coating the bumpers. Scuff the surface with some scotchbright pads before hand aswell for a good adhesion. That's just my method.

Still working on the LB7. Just had my vent shades done, need to install them. Next on the list are the bumper pads like Hondarider's...

For the folks that do it yourself how are you going about it?
I sanded the plastic down with 220 grit to get the texture down, and then 500 grit to smooth out the rest of it a little more. Then use a wax and grease remover to get them really clean. Then spray 3 coats of adhesion promoter on to help the paint stick. Then I use a high built primer and wet sand it with 1000 grit to get it really smooth and to fill in any left over texture. Then I spray 3 coats of base, and then 3 coats of clear. After a week wet sand and polish if you have any orange peel.

Mine is just de-chromed, not really all color matched. I have a kind of black and blue theme going. Here's a picture.

I was the same way, and then I decided to go with it. Now I love them done and they are way easier to clean than the textured plastic

I like it, how do you think it would look on a white truck? I wanted to black out the grille and bumpers and leave my fender flares white.

What paint did you use? Did you get authentic summit white or just some store bought stuff?

I don't know how it would look, but I really like chrome with white. Just seems to work.

X2 on ppg products. Same stuff i used. Looked up my paint code and did the almost same prep steps what 1sikdzl did. All most to a tee. Prep is what makes a paint job.
