I was going to pull all leaves out except the overload. I saw this setup on casper but he had air bags too iirc. Was wondering how this rides on the street and can I do this without air bags? Will have djm 3/5 drop as well.

you do know the overload is the small fat one at the bottom of the pack. it cant be used by itself. look into using a 1500's leaf pack and using them in conjunction with airbags with some good shocks

the 1500's leaf pack has a stronger spring

that isnt a good idea IMO.

i removed the overload and the next spring above the bottom spring. this gave me about a 3-4 inch drop in the rear and the truck rides like a dream. however, if you do it like this be prepared to install some kind of traction bar, the axle wrap becomes an issue. not good for slip joints and u-joints.

if you have the 3/5 kit, and you remove all springs except top and overload, your axle tubes will be resting on the bumpstops easy. Depending on how much sag your springs already have, your rear end would look like this with too much drop. this is where my rear end sits, i think I need a notch.

I have removed the overload spring and had custom shackles made to lower it more along with the djm kit. I put bags on and now I want to remove another spring then fill the bags up a little for a better ride. Is it ok to run only 3 leafs in there. And I had traction bars made. Running efi live so they were definitely needed.

I'm trying to pull out the Leaf above the overload spring but I don't know how to get that clamp off that's hold the springs together any help?
