I found a lbz with a blown engine for 5k. Truck has just shy of 200k miles and cab looks great but does need a bed. So from yells experience would it be a worth investment. Thinking about getting this one and get it running then selling my lly. I have no experience with pulling a motor or replacing one. Just wanted yalls opinion. Want to try to keep the build under 12k as of right now. Is it possible and how much would yall think it would be for a engine?

Just paid $5000 for a great running CCLB LBZ 2006 4x4. Guy I bought it from was pulling into his driveway and ended up sliding in the ditch at ~5mph.

I would keep looking unless you absolutely have to have it. Or try and get it around $3000

Well he has 3 that I'm sure I can do the work myself the rest have extensive damage that I don't want to touch. One is a 06 3500 cc 2wd with just some minor body damage for 11k it's loaded sunroof and all low miles.
The second one is a 06 ccsb 4wd WT he said he would get rid of for 5.3k he says it will turn over and fire up but will not run says he thinks it's the turbo but idk haven't gone to look at them yet. 275k miles
The 3rd is a 06 gmc ccsb 4wd WT says all that is wrong is a blown engine block is still in engine bay but everything else is in the back of the truck or back seat for 5k. So I'm kinda stuck on if this is a good deal or not.

If your buying for a hobby, fine. But if your buying a broke truck to fix cause you want a diesel and cant afford a diesel, be careful cause you may end up with more stress than you bargained for. They are expensive. Do the whole engine thing then find out tranny shafted to

I've got my lly it's running just been wanting a lbz for a while. And I agree on the bucket of patience and a bucket of beer and a roll or 2 of tape to fix the holes in the wall.
