If the Transmission man says lick the dipstick and put it back in, he knows something that you don't. Mike knows more about the Allison (and several others) than I can ever hope to learn.

Could be that the C2 Piston has back pressure to help it disengage and with a set of wiped out seals, the TCM is throwing pressure at it to help with the problem. If Mike says there is something wrong in the C2, pull it and check it. Even if it looks like a small nick in the seal, its bad. Could also be that the C2 is warped causing the issue.

The guy that my kid bought the truck from said the transmission was built to withstand the engine. But that doesn’t mean anything to me. I guess I’ll have to pull it and see what’s going on inside
