So when using the timing calculator everyone says shot for 50/50 in the top end but what about mid range? Seems it's all over the place, from 40 to high as 75%.
Truck runs decent and clean plenty of power up in top end just feel like theres more to have in the mid range

play with it and see what you like. if the truck rattles from too much timing, back it down 3-4 degrees.

Ok I'll play with it some today. One other question everyone says stick to the 50 split but in the top end what happens if your are over or under that? I'm assuming it starts getting smokey if you go much over 50 and starts putting too much heat and drive pressure if you way under 50? Am im understanding that correctly

50/50 is a good safe spot till you get on a dyno. From there, you can start playing with timing and seeing what gains come with more timing BTDC. too much increases cyl pressure to the point of bending rods or blowing HG. i wouldnt go over 70% BTDC but the whole scope of the tune dictates alot.

If you want more mid range just add 200-300us more pulse at 80mm3 from 140mpa to 180mpa, and blend down to 40mm3 or so. More mid range without crazy timing numbers. Just remember to add some rail pressure so you dont get into a situation where you're using a ridiculous amount of pulse between 50mm3-70mm3

no, there is so many variables there it aint funny. you have boost, fuel (including post injection) and timing that all affect this. again, if you hear rattle, you went too far and need to pull timing back a good amount. play with it from there.

After logging the truck again I think I've done my power issue, on the timing table at 1900 rpm and 95mm3 I'm commanding 9.4 degrees but it only logged it at .5? My maximum timing table it at 19 in that spot. I'm sure there's a limiter or something that im missing just can't seem to find it.

On a second thought I have the timing pid on my edge box and it seems like it follows the table better from what I can tell but not sure which one to trust.

Are you using the correct timing table? If unsure just adjust them all for now. Also, efi does have issues from time to time with certain pids. These issues are usually listed on their forum.

You can figure out what %BTDC the stock tune uses and use those values for the lower MM3 and bump them up 5%.
