I mounted my S464 today to see how things line up and on the downpipe side, it's not too bad. On the inlet from the air filter, that is a different story. Because the inlet to the Y-bridge on the LBZ is in the front and not the top like the LB7, it doesn't leave much room to work with. I have it sitting on a T-4 HTTurbo pedestal and this turbo only has 3" between the end of the 5" compressor housing inlet and the inlet pipe for the y-bridge.
Lifting it won't help much.
About the only options I saw are to turn the turbo, change to an LB7 y-bridge, or custom make an intake piece similar in design to the stock LBZ mouthpiece. I chose option 3 and after about 2 hrs came up with the rough fab'd piece below.

If it fits I will weld it out tomorrow, install it and pray I have enough airflow to spool the turbo!
Shut your mouth Simon.........

Won't fit. MP is 4 1/4" OD, S464 is 5". Plus only 3 " between the end of the compressor inlet and the y-bridge inlet.
Not much for options here on a short time frame/budget.

a straight in 5" has a surface area of 19.625"
This piece chokes it down to about 12-13" of SA.
We will see. If it doesn't work I'm only out $8 plus time.

:dontknow:
It says HTTurbo on the side of it, Trent said it was an BD, and Simon says it's a Turbonetics.

Really all I know is that it fits and it's a T-4.

The turbo will hate any restrictions in the intake IMO. It'd be better to fab up a LB7 style Y bridge so you can keep a nice flow going into the turbo. I ran a stock intake on my GT42 for a week or two and it was aweful!

I agree. I know guys have run the HTT and S3 chassis turbo's with the stock MP with no issues and it is not any bigger than what I built. Not at all what I wanted to use believe me. 64mm, I'm hoping it will work ok......
I thought that style ped was a bullseye:D It is really nice though, I like that its cast.
I think it is. It just has HTTurbo cast in the side.....

LBZ van bridge or RDL LBZ bridge

Got pics of either??
What does a van bridge look like?

From what I heard the RDL piece is the same thing just with a deflector V and maybe a little bigger??
I honestly do not want to use an LB7 bridge. I'll tough it out untill I get twins first - unless it doesn't work the way it is!!

I wish..... Look under the hood of an LBZ and you will quickly understand why that won't work.

Van bridge stock you can cut and tig yourself
http://creaturesofthenightperformance.com/LBZ-Van-Bridge-P284654.aspx

to make it look like PPE's
http://creaturesofthenightperformance.com/GM-High-Flow-Intake-Manifold-P278026.aspx

Rick can do one like the PPE and he's also working on one like the pro flow LLY were the tube runs out and around and gives more room. If I did not have to go to md last week we could of mocked one up on my truck.

Charlie runs a stock MP now - no issues.
Surely can be improved on, but I need to get on the road - really don't care about performance as long as I can make more boost than the "0" psi I rolled into the shop with.:D
Also this is just a rough fab'd piece. If I can open it up more, I will.

I remember that....:( Mine isn't quite as bad as Paul's 3" egr delete pipe wraps over the top of the alt and isn't in the way at all. Which brings another PIA about cuz if I switch to a van or LB7 style, I need to make a new pipe up from the IC to the y-bridge pipe. :gay:

Believe me, this isn't the road I wanted to take but I need to get this truck mobile. Trent is working on something on a local truck shortly so if this doesn't work then I will see what he comes up with and go from there.
