The amount of blowby seems normal to me, though on the high end of normal. What is weird is the pressure build up causing the noise when you first open the filler.

If the PCV system isn't relieving pressure, it could be causing your problem. I'd look into that.

As a quick test you could leave the oil cap off and take a quick spin. It will splash some oil out and up onto your hood liner, but not much (unless you do have a cracked piston). If the smoke and oil loss stops, you have a PCV problem. If it still eats a ton of oil, you have a different problem.

That's what I'd do.

Turbo is rebuilt and ready for the truck. 3rd time in 15K miles, 2nd time in 40 miles.

Everything looked fine, but not worth the risk. All genuine Garret parts again, and checked balance.

I am deciding whether to run my system and just ditch the coalescent filter, or vent to a catch can going to atmosphere.

There are many benefits to running crankcase vacuum to scavenge off the gasses and oil that come out of the engine. But not sure I am going to chance it.

I could just plug my intake port, and pull the coalescent filter from the catch can, then run the separator into a vented catch can, or just to underneath the damn truck.

This all started because I didn't want any oil every coming out the breather tubes and getting onto my undercarriage, and dripping on my driveway...

If the catch can is working, it won't drip. The LB7 vents to the bottom of the motor in stock form and never leaves any spots on my driveway.

You aren't getting much, if any, vacuum from your intake anyway. I'd just vent it underneath the truck.

Good real world advice, thank you.

I am not going to hook this system back up, will use the catch can as a separator with no filter in it, and either dump the outlet line to atmosphere, or, back into the armor all bottle :)

PCV reroute back into the exhaust. No smells. No drips.
If you get drips you either have excessive blow by or it’s making oil.
