I bought my LBZ new in late 2006. I have daily driven the truck ever since. Truck has been bullet proof with just oil, gas and tires in the last 160k.

I picked up a low mileage LLY with 5 speed allison for a swap into a K5 blazer.

Welded up a stand for tonight. Will drop the harness of to be converted to standalone this week and the trans to be gone through.

Just looking for any input on what I should do to the LLY since it is on the stand. EGR delete for sure. and was eyeing the PPE High Flow Exhaust Manifolds with Up-Pipes. ARP head studs and gaskets is my other thought.

Just looking to say hello and get any input.

Ah this is going to be great! What year model k5? I have a 79. I've always wanted to do a duramax swap in mine but not any time soon. Btw goodluck and I'll definitely be keeping up with this.

I would strongly suggest new head gaskets and studs before you install it. Easy to do right now.

Welded water pump, downpipe, anything with the fuel system (race plug, ported rail fitting)

Sounds like a pretty cool project. Those old Blazers are cool!
