You can remove just the grid, and leave the wire hooked up so it doesn't looked jerry rigged with electric tape all over it. You will get a p0540 code, but you can shut off the CEL. The code will still apear when reading DTCs but It wont hinder performance. I measured the area of the grid face awhile ago, and think it added up to about 13mm of blockage.

Well I broke the wires so as long as I turn off the code and disconnect all together It won't hurt anything ?

I would keep the big red one hooked up still, and figure out something to do about the little ones that you broke. But yes it wont hurt anything.

Didnt MMLMM make an IAH delete plate for the LBZs? Or was it SIKDMAX? I forget....

I did and now Matt (SIKDMAX) has taken over. HE has the resources to do it quicker then what I kept coming up with local. He has the drawings and all the rights or whatever you want to call it to build them based on what I came up with.

Pulling the grid out leaves some pretty heavy walls so to say and it could perhaps restrict the flow just as bad with the grid in there. When I did testing it wasnt so much the grid that messed with the flow it was the flat areas the air hit.....food for thought ;)

I am a lil confused. My sensor does not have a grid on it. It just has about a half inch probe on it. R we talkin about the same sensor. I am talkin about the one in the bridge between the two intake runners.

Thats because you have an LLY, not an LBZ like your brother's truck, which is what all the following responses were based on.

No no no listen I have a lly and a lb7 one of my brothers has a lmm and the other a lbz now I am talkin about the intake sensor in the bridge between the two intake runners. It is a lbz trust me. While installing his new turbo the harness fell apart from heat exposure and I need to know if I can eliminate it or is it needed. The dealer said it is a intake temp. Sensor

It is the IAT2 (post boost/intercooler intake temp) sensor, as said in my post. Yes you need this for the truck to operate correctly. it looks like an egt probe (short) and has a connector on the end..

See pic i jut took for you. I think they cost a bit. I have a used one Id let go cheap if needed.
