I went to put a dsp2 switch in a lbz today and I cannot get it to work. I've put dsp switches in lb7s and llys but this is my first lbz. Any trick to this? Using pins 52 and 54 per cindys instructs. Only other thing I can think is that I have the wires in the wrong places meaning the black would be positive
thanks gang

IIRC Chris said installing his DSP was a BITCH he might be able to lend some help?

I put mine in, But I used DSP 5. Who made your switch? About the only thing I could think of is the wires in the wrong location. Or your switch voltages doesn't match the way your switch is made (which is not common our pre purchased switches).

Can you check the DSP PID on the scan tool to see if it recognizes the switch?

Are the pins in all the way? Mine didnt work at first due to the pins not being fully seated, took quite a lot to get all the way in.

I put it in the right holes as I said per Cindys instructions. Im certain its in the right slots because Ive checked the numbers on the ECM checked EFILives instructs and landmarks (which wire is by which slot etc..) The switch is from Rob. The black ground pin is really tight going in and the slot it goes in looks smaller than the slot the signal wire is supposed to go into. WTF gives. I prefer building transmissions and doing lifts where you dont have to play with wires

What you use to seat them all the way? I have a tiny allen wrench I was pushing in real hard and the pin lock slides in fine.

You did hear a "Click" right?

Yes I agree, it's a bitch messing with those little wires. I actually grounded mine under the hood as I didn't want to fight those little pins anymore.

I used a paper clip, but a small enough allen should work. They only go in so far and you can feel/hear them lock in.

Any luck trying to use efi to check the voltages?

If you're certain that the signal is in the correct spot and the ground is ify you can just cut it and ground it in the cab.

I may try that. Are you running a dsp2 on yours? If so when you flip the plug over so you are looking at the back and the wires run to the right its the second row up and the 4th pin from the right (next to the yellow/black wire). It just goes in there into the abyss. The only thing Im having the kid check with rob is if the grey wire for some reason may be the ground before I go cutting anything. My DSP2 switch is grounded in the cab as well with no trouble. Ive done quite a few and never had any problem and felt it was kind of stupid to have an issue with something so simple. But apparently im not as dumb as I thought:D Also yes used EFI for the dsp2 option it just says yes or no. It doesnt have a voltage readout for the dsp2 only the dsp5. But i tried that anyway and it just read no. also the dsp2 tune is supposed to be a smoke tune with a 3900pw down low and it doesnt smoke a bit so i know its not working.

I'm running DSP 5 on mine. My switch came from Mike (MMLMM) and he said simply ground one, and put the other in the signal. I'm not sure how Rob's switches are setup.

They do the same thing just routed to different signals. One to ground one to signal. Jason do you have a DSP2 or 5? The pin for the 5 position is way easier to get to..

I have a 5 in my LMM, nothing in my LBZ yet.

I'm sure you noticed, but the pins have to go in clocked in a certain position.

jordan i'm sure you did this but gotta make sure; you pulled the pink pin retaining clip out when inserting the pins right? i was fighting mine for about 30 min til i figured it out :p

Thats what I used also, it actually bent a little before I got it to fully seat.

So I pushed as hard as I could and pin lock wouldn't go in. Pushed again and got the lock to slide in. Grounded the switch to the chassis. Still no luck. Beginning to wonder if he has the dsp2 tune flashed in
