I'm getting two messages on the dash, one is "water in fuel", and the other is "low coolant level". I've tried replacing the fuel filter and draining the water separator on the airdog, and neither has fixed it. The coolant level in the truck seems fine, and it holds consistent temp at ~185. The other day on the way to work it stopped blowing hot air and the temp skyrocketed until it pegged the gauge, but it instantly dropped back down to operating temperature and started blowing hot air again. Could the issue be a sticky thermostat?

Jumper the coolant level switch or replace it.

Sounds like you have a bad head gasket to me. When your heat stopped it was because the heater core was filled with air. Normally happens at slow speeds, then once the rpm's pick back up the water pump forces coolant back through the heater core. The low coolant light is because your probably pushing coolant out of the tank from combustion gasses in the cooling system. As to your water in fuel light, have you checked the engine filter? Could be water in the engine mounted fuel filter, or the wires at the water in fuel sensor could be shorted across from the insulation missing from them(fairly common).

How can I test for a bad headache gasket, and if it is bad what does it cost to replace them with grade C's, if I don't do studs?
