Not 100% but it will hold rail pressure better on the big tunes... And u will need somethings changed in ur tuning

B1010 needs to be adjusted in your tune file, not a big deal. Should hold rail pressure better, I think the LBZ/LMM were at 26k and LB7/LLY are 23k??? I think...........:)

I too am in a debate about this. My LB7 pump is not holding rail anymore. Dropping about 4kpsi on race tune. I have a new LBZ pump sitting at my house and I've thought of swapping the pumps. Problem is, if I just used the LBZ pump as a secondary pump it would be half the time to install the 2CP3 kit vs 8 hours to swap the pumps and only run one pump.

i did mine twice because the pump i put in wasnt pumping so had to remove and reinstall another and it still didnt take me 8hrs ,and it was my first time doing it, like justin said it will hold rail pressure better and all you need to do is change your b1010 table :thumb:

For a guy like me with limited wrench time and picture taking and labeling stuff so I don't mess up....I'm sure it will. Glad you can do it faster though! When you coming over?

I'm not trying to talk Crap. The first one i did took 5 hours. Now they take me around 2-3. I'm the same way. I take many pictures and label stuff. Just cause of the fact I forget how some stuff was routed. Just make sure you get all the new o rings and gaskets for the thermastat housing.

the one i did took maybe 6ish hours, but i was hammered drunk the whole time....took an hour to get to the cp3, 4 hours to wiggle/turn/pry/beat on/rip out of the valley and an hour to reassemble. We didnt have any gaskets for the Y bridge so pulling it off was not an option.

Thanks for the confidence booster guys. Would you all not just spend the time installing 2CP3 kit as that is the eventuality anyways? Seems like time better spent, no fight getting the lower pump out. What do you guys think?

I forgot to mention some guys remove the y bridge , But you dont have to it saves you time, just roll the cp3 out up towards you:thumb:

I think if you have a new pump install that in the valley and if your going to do a 2x cp3 you could put the low pump on till you get a new 1 but if the pump is going bad probably just runthe single till you get a good pump.and also you need to run 2 lb7 fpr's or 2 lbz regs cant run 1 of each.

I did but then again, i also built my motor. still running my factory 01 pump with 168k on it in the valley and another used pump i got from brian with 100k+ on it. Only reason i didnt put the 100k pump in the valley was i nor brian were sure if it would be any good lol. If you bought a brand new pump, id put it in the valley and put your old pump in the second pumps spot

You can run one of each (one LBZ and one LB7), its just a tuning nightmare lol.

My LB7 pump has an LBZ regulator on it.:thumb:

The thought of putting the new pump down low had crossed my mind. I've heard so many people say it's very uncommon for pumps to go bad so I figured for my needs/plans the new LBZ pump will pick up the slack to get me by for a while. I know I'm on borrowed time with stock rods and dual pumps is asking for trouble. Here's another question though.... If I ran the single new LBZ pump and it holds rail, won't the party be over that route too? Damned either way right?

Kinda what i was wondering too, would it be to overkill for me? I dont wanna melt er down or anything. And when puttin the LBZ pump on, i use the Z fuel regualter correct?
