Alright since I can't seem to find it and I'm way behind the times. what tablets are supported for use of efi live? I want to be able to tune and log on both platforms as mentioned. I have a laptop that I used to tune my trucks with but the display want turn on. It's a old school hp pavilion zv5000 with a 15.4in screen and Windows xp it turns on but no display if anyone can help me get it going other wise I'm going tablet route and would like to know what to use that is compatible thanks.

Right now, EfiLive only supports windows operating systems. So make sure what ever "tablet" you get run full fledged windows and not any mobile or RT version. You will also need to make sure it comes with at least one usb connection for connecting your V1/V2

As for the tables, there are way too many to list. I would take a look at their website and help files and get yourself reacquainted with it

Haven't used it but based on the specs it looks like it would work. Any reason why you are specifically looking for a Tablet and not a Laptop or Notebook which would likely be much more suitable for EfiLive and table editing?

Pull the old hard drive out, get an adapter and hook it up to a newer computer running windows. You can then go and see what's on your old hard drive and open the application up.(may have to run in it compatibility mode.)

Ill have to try that 1 fast brick. but I may just try a screen replacement I read the digitizer may have faulted so I replaced it with no luck. guess a screen is next I hate to throw parts at it but I need to get it running again. so I can tune the new to me used fleece 71.5 cheetah I just recently purchased. I guess when you work on everybody else's stuff for a living you get home and say I'll fix it tomorrow then tomorrow becomes next month and so on........... the computer will turn on and run with no fault symptoms just has no display yes Windows xp is old school but so much easier to tune and navigate than the new stuff. the reason I was gonna go tablet is to be able to carry less stuff and diag at work faster it its compatible with efi live then a gm mdi and gds2 should run fine is my perception. I'm open to suggestions there as well

If its just the screen that is bad, in a pinch you could always connect a second monitor to the video output. Most laptops of that era have a vga out. That should at least get you running

Windows 7 is pretty stable like XP.

Windows 10... well it has some new features but no 2 computers seem to run or install the same.

When I switched to Windows 10, One of the other programing softwares is fine on 1 laptop but seems to have merged with another program on a different laptop.

Windows 7, the last good os from Microsoft

8, 8.1 & 10 are horrible for someone trying to get actual work done. Good for wasting time and playing around but not productive

XP and 7 are the workhorse of the bunch

I'm still rockin windows 7. Sucks they don't offer support for it anymore but I believe the nerd stores can still fix and restore them.
Some equipment manufacturers are still using XP to run their plc systems on new equipment.

That's why I prefer xp so I can work with it :thumb: I'm gonna try a screen and see if that fixes it then start back tuning so I can enjoy my cheetah.

I use a Microsoft Surface Pro 3. Any of the "pro" line are full blown windows PCs. Mine gets about 7-8hrs of use on a single charge with the brightness at a moderate setting.

Gotcha I'm gonna try and the repair my laptop before I completely give up on it. I have a old school jotto desk laptop stand mount in my trucks for tuning purposes which I'm tired of seeing collect dust. Now I just need to repair my laptop and get back to logging and tuning. Funny thing is that my efi v2 has one of the original blue efi live storage cases that guy trip at socal diesel used to sale way back in 2007 when I first bought my v2 which I'm also tried of see collect dust in my closet:roflmao:
