I bought an lbz recently the previous owner said the Trans would get hot after 30 mins of driving. I have put 500 miles on the truck and have not seen temps increasing till now. I drove it home today which is 10 miles and the temp read just above 200 as I pulled into the driveway, outside temp was 60 degrees.

Last week the Trans was at 200 after 15 min then limp mode all of a sudden, wouldn't shift passed 50mph. Shut the truck off turned it back on and shifted like it should, but 5minutes later at 60mph Trans reached 230 range. Pulled over let it cool then drove 15 miles to my shop ran 180-190.

Fluid looks to be above the hot mark by 1/8", cooler lines felt cold as well. Truck has a bulldog and 120k

What codes did it throw? You may have a converter clutch that shed its lining and restricted flow to your heat exchanger.

That's way hotter than my comfort zone.

Where are you located?

Ya I figured, not looking to make a bunch of power with this truck just a daily. Can clutch material from the converter damage the trans? Would like to just replace converter if you think it's worth the gamble.

It's not worth the gamble. Contact Andrew at suncoast and get it taken care of
