Your right it will put me in the mod class. I was thinking big single, but the towing is hurt and this truck is my daily driver, trailer puller. I guess I will flip a coin on whats more important.

Ya thats where I'm at, want to sell the two LBZ's and the 01-dmax and just drive the 02 d-max. The big turbos suck for towing heavy. Want to go to twins also but need to sell some stuff first. Buying a new boat and couple of razors to ride first though.

Yes my old 02 GMC CC/SB ran 12.09, and 111+. I raced it at 7000 lbs with me in it. It did have a set of the very first ATS twin CP3's and a MITUSA lift pump. I was running a custom TTS extreme at the time. Bent all the rods too. That the reason we built Max'd Out, don't have to worry about walking if we break it.:D

So would anyone say a bigger single like a 4094 would perform better than MPI twins or am I splitting hairs between daily driving/towing and the occasional sled pull. Probably track times are near the same with eirther set up.

I guess it all a personal preference. Twins spool fast. They run cooler egt's and for daily driving and highway towing I believe they are hard to beat. For drag racing you can use a big single if you can get it to spool or juice it too. As far as sled pulling, I've never done it, it's not my thing. I understand there are a lot of rules thats actually go againt twinned trucks. The LB 7 using the stock charger as the top charger are not that easy to tune, but it is doable.

i think to put twins on stricly for drag racing unless its a big set is not the best aprouch .

simply because a bigger single will get the same results for less moneybut it takes a gt 42 to provide the same results usually .

were the twins come into play is the average guy needs to use and drive his truck . i personally wouldnt go any bigger than a 66mm single if your going to tow . for us guys that like to race a 66mm isnt quite enough to keep up with the trucks that we normally race with . this very situation is why twins exist period ! not to mention that there is nothing that tows better than twins i could not beleive how well even my big set towed i was :happy2: i cant think of a single person that has ran a set of twins and went back to a single , i know i wouldnt .

i agree with trent. the twins keep all the drivability of the stock charger with the benefits of a big charger on top end. i havent towed with mine yet but i wouldnt be afraid to tow real heavy. i have a friend with a s465 and it would be horrible to tow with. but it works well on the pulling track. and really if you look at the price of a 4094 kit from ppe and then look at the basic kit from nathan the extra 1k is worth keeping the truck driving like stock. and i know a guy with a 4094 and he tows a lot but his truck wont run with mine on the track. the big set of twins like trents are definalty the best for the lb7's but i think the stock kit like mine is capable of low 12's maybe even high 11's with the right suspension and weight set up. you will be hard pressed to find a single cp3 truck do that with a charger that can still tow.

Thanks all for your replies. I am definitely leaning towards the twins. I think I will be happier when I am towing and that is why I have the truck. I guess just trying to beat the big power trucks will be fun anyway at the sled pulls.

Yeah Tom your about 1k lighter than mine Your time is really good.

so figure thats a half second right there. Its not that hard to pull 400 lbs out of a crew cab, though...
My best guess is with MPI twins and the assorted other mods to go with them you'd be 12.30's at full weight, 12.teens if you remove some stuff.
