Subtract 4k for injectors next time you gotta do them and there is 25% of your new truck.
ok. how good of a deal that really is would depend on how optioned out the truck is, and how big of a rebate he got. when he bought it new.- my local dodge dealer has some trucks with close to 10k rebates.
I just priced an SLT online, and its right at 49k for a bare bones 4x4. So, if he got a huge rebate when he bought it, then if he thinks he is getting 40k (your truck at 20k plus 20k "cash") then he is essentially getting all of his money back (in his mind).
IMO, for you this is a good deal. his valuation of 20k for your truck is very high- probably higher than you could sell it for, and most definitely higher than you would get if you walked into a dealer to trade it in on a new dodge.

I paid 48k for mine.
Every option for a SLT, plus black package, bedliner, 2 backup cameras, and such. Factory gooseneck hitch as well. I personally like the Cummins cloth more than the leather.
My good friend bought his black 15 Laramie for 52k as well.
I looked for months for a LML with the right options that I wanted in a SLE trim but couldn't find it. The difference from a SLT to a Denali isn't much so mind as well get a denali. I didn't want a 1k/month payment and wasn't about to put 20k down to get it down so I bought a Cummins that fit my price range better and I personally like it better than a LML. Call me crazy, but I'll have another duramax, just changing it up for a bit. Plus, I lowered duramax' for years, never seen a blacked out 15 Cummins dropped, now I have one and love it. Rides like a dream on air.
I often drive a 15 denali of onr of my friends with a 4" kit and 35's and to be honest yeah I like the truck, but I don't think it's as comfortable as my cummins, but that all boil down to personal preference. the AC seats in the Denali's are a joke as well.
